Registration Information
Monarch School is a special entity school that serves 3 different populations: special needs preschoolers, typical preschoolers, and special needs young adults. The process for registration differs for each of the populations.
Special Needs Preschoolers (GCPS)
For a complete special needs evaluation, please contact our parent referral line at 678-301-7244 and speak with Cindy Beine. The special education department will begin the evaluation process by sending you the correct packets of information. If your child qualifies for special education services, you will be contacted by Cindy or the assessment team to set up a meeting to write your child's Individual Education Plan (IEP). Your child will be served in a class as close to your home as possible. The Early Childhood Program (ECP) serves children from the 3rd birthday until they are old enough to attend kindergarten.
Typical Preschoolers (NDO Pre-K and Headstart)
Please call Ms. Cheryl Hoge at 678-542-2376 to see if there are openings and to make an appointment to register. You will need to bring the following with you: child's birth certificate, child's social security card if you have one, proof of residency in the Monarch School area, copy of medical card if applicable, and immunization record on form #3231. In addition, Headstart applicants will need to bring proof of income for the past 12 months for any working adult in the home. The Headstart and Pre-K programs serve children ages 3 and 4.
Special Needs Young Adults (GCPS)
Parents of special needs high school students can get more information about the ADAPT program and other programs for young adults by speaking with the special education teacher serving your child at the high school where the student attends. The ADAPT program serves students ages 18-21, with services ending at the student's 22nd birthday.
